Impact of a Gift
Your #MoveInMiami gifts touch all corners of campus and they make a real difference. Our students, faculty, and staff wanted to share some of the amazing things made possible by last year's campaign.
Student Counseling Center
Thank you so much for your donation to the Student Counseling Service. We deeply appreciate your willingness to support our mission to help students with mental health concerns. We plan to use the funds to bring in a speaker for Suicide Prevention Week in the fall as part of our suicide prevention efforts on campus. Your donation will make an impact on the availability of prevention and mental health resources for students on Miami's campus.
The donations enabled Design Innovation Challenge to be extended to year 2 this spring and host the First MU CAT Research Symposium in Winter 2018.
Opening Minds through Art
Thank you for your generous support of Opening Minds through Art! Your contribution supported creative engagement, social interaction and friendship for more than 100 artists and student partners! Thank you for helping us build bridges across age and cognitive barriers through art!!
Paper Science & Engineering Foundation
Generous Miamians and PSEF Supporters, your contributions to our #MoveInMiami campaign and our year round fundraising efforts always leaves us humbled and forever grateful. Your generosity directly supports our engineering students in the paper discipline through scholarships, research supplies, labs, study abroad and conference expenses. Our students are unique in the direct industry support they receive from the 1000's of paper engineers that have benefited from this program and have supported it since 1960. We thank you for your unwavering support of our mission and your truest display of love and honor. On behalf of the student beneficiaries of the Paper Science and Engineering Foundation, WE THANK YOU!
Miami University Council for Teachers of Mathematics (MUCTM)
The money raised from the #MoveInMiami project helped MUCTM members attend the OCTM Conference in Columbus, Ohio this past October. This conference gave us the opportunity to expand our preservice education into the real world of which we will be a part within the years to come. Your generosity is sincerely appreciated and we would not have been as successful without your help. Thank you.
Associated Student Government
On behalf of Associated Student Government, thank you for donating to our Let's Start Talking: Funding for Mental Health Resources project. Because of your donation we were able to present Student Counseling Services with a donation at our annual Mental Health Forum with nearly 400 students in attendance.
Miami Varsity Esports
We can't thank our donors enough! The Varsity Esports Program is only two years old, but we've done so much this year. Our Overwatch team won the first ever Overwatch NACE National Championship in December, and our League of Legends team made the top 12 in Riot's College League of Legends competition. Our operating budget right now is all based on donations and sponsorship from our generous patrons. We love all of you, and we hope to continue to represent Miami with Love and Honor.
Study Abroad Scholarships
More than 550 Miami students were able to study abroad this winter term and your contributions helped make that possible! Thank you for your support.
Lockheed Martin Leadership Institute
Thank you for your contribution during #MoveInMiami! Your generous donation supported books, student projects and activities in the Lockheed Martin Leadership Institute, including the Coaching Mindset Summit held April 13th. We can continue to provide excellent student programming because of the generosity of our donors. Thank you for being a part of our story here at Miami University!
"Wow!!" That pretty much sums up our students' reactions, along with a lot of smiles and puffed chests, when we debuted our new uniforms last September at Notre Dame. They were so proud to be there, representing Miami, and experiencing one of the sport's legendary stadiums, all while wearing one of college band's most progressive looks. The uniform was created by one of the industry's leaders. Thank you for contributing to our campaign and making a difference for our students!
Sigma Phi Epsilon Endowment
Thanks for supporting the Doc Gordon Leadership Endowment! Your generous contributions to our fund help continue growing the impact on our OH Eta brothers for generations to come. This year, your support enabled additional brothers to attend Carlson Leadership Academy in Chicago, Ruck Leadership Institute in Richmond, and a rising senior will travel to Greece this summer on the Tragos Quest to Greece through SigEp. Please consider continuing to support OH Eta this year. VDBL
The University Libraries
#MoveInMiami was critical to raising support and awareness around the University Libraries' commitment to creating access to textbooks on reserve as well as both basic and advanced technologies for our students. In just three years, the support inspired for these important programs has more than tripled, helping further stretch the Libraries' budget to meet these essential student needs.
Thank you so much for your generous contribution to the Student Orientation Undergraduate Leader (SOUL) program. With the help of your contribution, we were able to provide textbooks free of charge for the new 2-credit Educational Leadership course that new SOULs take just before their SOUL summer. We could not be more grateful. Here's a photo of some of the 2018 SOULs showing off their new books. Thank you!
Men's Glee Club
Thank you to all of our 2017 #MoveInMiami donors!!! All gifts to the Miami University Men’s Glee Club are greatly appreciated. With the ever-increasing costs of performing, touring, concert attire, and other annual needs, each gift makes a difference to the Glee Club. Your gift to the Glee Club is a gift to Miami and helps benefit the student’s overall Miami experience. Your support also helps sustain the traditions and aspirations of the Glee Club as a world-class men’s choral organization.
Thank you to everyone who donated to the Equestrian Center last year. We are overwhelmed by your support each year. With your support, we have been able to purchase wish list items that continue to make the program more successful and benefit the horses and riders. This past year we were able to purchase new therapeutic western saddle pads that are used daily as well as a therapy blanket which uses heat, magnetic, and massage therapies to keep all our of our horses performing at their best.
With a deep sense of gratitude, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your kind and generous contribution towards Chabad of Miami University. It is your thoughtfulness that will help make our vital efforts of reaching out to the Jewish students at Miami a reality. Hundreds of Jewish students consider Chabad their home on campus, and YOU make that happen.
